Maserati Etches Its Logo Into the Stars

Maserati is adding a celestial touch to its famous 'Trident' symbol.
In honour of the logo's centenary, the Italian carmaker has turned it into a constellation in the night sky.
Working with Maurizio Pajola and Anna Lucchetti from the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) – Astronomical Observatory of Padua, Maserati has identified one hundred stars, with each one said to honour a person who has influenced the brand's history, from dedicated customers to employees.
The 'Trident Stars', located between the Leo and Boötes constellations, form the recognisable outline of the brand’s symbol.
"With Trident Stars, Maserati therefore looks to the stars to make eternal what the Trident has represented for one hundred years: audacity, excellence, and a passion destined to shine beyond time," says the company.
"We wanted to take it to the place where memory becomes eternal, transforming it into a constellation destined to shine through time," further comments Cristiano Fiorio, Maserati's chief marketing officer.
The Trident logo was first seen on the famous Tipo 26 racing car, which won the Targa Florio motor race in 1926.
