Backbone Studio is a multidisciplinary design agency headquartered in the city of Yerevan in Armenia.

As well as designing the logo for this particular brand of honey, the designers – or ‘Backboners’ as they like to call themselves – also devised the packaging.

Taking inspiration from nature they decided to encase the honey jar within an improvised beehive constructed from wood (minus bees of course). This fulfilled one of the brief’s most important provisos, namely, that the overall packaging and presentation should both emphasise and accentuate the naturalness of the honey product.

In totality, the Bzzz project represents a near perfect symbiosis of successful graphic design, packaging design and industrial product design.
