Alpine Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Special Logo
French sports car manufacturer Alpine is marking its 70th anniversary with a specially designed logo.
The company was originally founded in 1955 by French pilot Jean Rédélé, in whose hometown of Dieppe the brand is set to hold a three-day celebration event at the end of this month.
The anniversary logo, meanwhile, sees the brand’s famous ‘A-arrow’ symbol being merged with the numeral 70, while the colours blue, white, and red highlight its French heritage.
“The number 70 extends the A-arrow, signifying a brand rooted in its past but looking to the future. The red target in the centre of the wheel, another automotive symbol, represents the challenges the brand will take on over the next 70 years,” says the company.
Following considerable motorsport success in its formative years – as well as the impact of the oil crisis – the brand was taken over by Renault in the 1970s.
In 1976, Alpine’s competition division merged with Renault Sport, leading to the end of Alpine-branded model production in 1995.
The brand subsequently made a comeback in 2017 as an independent marque, introducing a new model, the Alpine A110 (pictured below with a special livery design featuring the anniversary logo).
