Eco Packaging Firm NantBioRenewables Updates Logo as Part of Rebrand

NantBioRenewables, an eco-packaging firm owned by biotech billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong’s Nant group, has revealed a brand transformation.

The strategic rebranding includes a slightly altered logo, a redesigned website, and updated sales collateral.

The refresh comes after NantBioRenewables was chosen as a finalist in the Sustainability Awards 2025, where its “Wave Ware” protein tray is currently competing against major players like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Henkel in the tough “Renewables (Pre-Commercialised)” category.

The American company manufactures renewable products such as straws, tableware, cutlery, and thermoformed packaging solutions, all made from a unique process that utilises sand sourced from the ocean floor.

These compostable products fully decompose in commercial composting facilities after use, transforming into safe organic matter.

“Our brand transformation ensures that our marketing and sales capabilities match the revolutionary nature of our technology,” says NantBioRenewables’ COO, Kenn Budlong

Adding: “When customers experience our new brand touchpoints, they immediately understand they’re engaging with a premium innovation leader, not just another packaging supplier.”

Born in South Africa, company founder Dr. Soon-Shiong started his career as a surgeon, specialising in pancreas transplants.

He later made his fortune by inventing Abraxane, a drug treatment for breast, lung, and pancreatic cancer, and selling two pharmaceutical firms, APP Pharmaceuticals and Abraxis BioScience.

In 2018, he also bought the Los Angeles Times and other regional newspapers for $500 million.
