Bentley Announces the Name of Its First Ever Electric Car

Bentley, the British luxury car manufacturer, has announced the name of a new electric vehicle set to be revealed this September.

The all-new Bentley "Torcal" will mark the brand's first electric car, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga as its fourth model line.

Similar to previous models like the Bentayga, Bacalar, and Batur, the Torcal is named after a natural site, El Torcal de Antequera, found in Andalusia, Spain.

The name also comes from the Latin word "torquere", which means to twist, and is the origin of the modern term torque.

"Torcal therefore also implies effortless progression, another hallmark of every Bentley from across the last 107 years," says the marque.

Adding: "New in concept, yet Bentley to its core, the Torcal carries forward the craftsmanship and performance that have defined the brand since 1919."

According to the teaser image shared by Bentley, the vehicle will be designed as an SUV.
