Logo Design for Auckland University Press
Auckland University Press is New Zealand’s leading scholarly publisher. Its identity is one of complementary elements – a bold and distinctive logomark with a light and unobtrusive wordmark and typography.
Designed around the idea of an open book and the form of the letter A, the logomark both references its name as well as its offering. The wordmark has been set in T-Star Mono Round, a proportional sans-serif typeface.
The identity was implemented through stationery, signage, web elements and an A6 catalogue that is more book than directory.
Devised under creative director Dean Poole of New Zealand agency Alt Group, the logo design has been selected as a Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2013 winner.
