JDO Creates New Logo and Identity for The Arts & Culture Podcast
Brand and design consultancy JDO has developed a new logo and identity for The Arts & Culture Podcast.
Backed by fine art print firm King & McGaw, the podcast is hosted and produced by Tom Dawson, who is the chief operating officer of the Association for Cultural Enterprises, a charity and trade body for the arts, heritage, and cultural sector that represents over 1,650 locations in the UK.
The podcast aims to provide sharp insights and prominent guests from the realm of British museums and heritage organisations.
The new design – which includes the logo, icon, and a complete typographic system – is said to be inspired by “the bold simplicity of modern art and the graphic clarity of cultural ephemera,” as stated by JDO’s design team.
“The name Arts & Culture Podcast is deliberately broad, which makes standing out a real challenge,” further elaborates Emily Fox, creative director at JDO.
Adding: “The new identity is bold, abstract and adaptable, giving the podcast distinction that is culturally credible. Too often arts brands play it safe and undersell themselves. This design system does the opposite: it signals ambition, quality and intent, while giving Tom the freedom to experiment, expand and still keep everything cohesive.”
