Picton Mahoney Announces New Name and Logo

Canadian investing firm, Picton Mahoney Asset Management, has officially announced it is rebranding to “PICTON Investments”.

Having been co-founded over two decades ago, the firm now claims to manage $13 billion in assets.

“By embracing the bear and encouraging Canadians to see it as a friend rather than a foe, PICTON aims to change the long-held perception of the bear as a symbol of fear. It now takes centre stage as PICTON’s brand anchor. Not as a warning, but as a symbol of strength, adaptability, and preparation,” says the Toronto-based alternative investment firm.

“The bear is our purpose,” adds Leisha Roche, chief marketing officer at PICTON. “We’re inviting the industry to join us, to think differently about how they invest. Our message is clear and encouraging. It’s time to stop fearing the bear and start building like one.”

In launching the new brand, PICTON also presented a 7-foot-tall bear statue at The Well in downtown Toronto and also closed the market with what is claimed to be among one of the industry’s first AI-designed brand mascots in the form of a cheerful grizzly bear.
