Identity Design for Korea’s National Art Museum
The corporate identity for South Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art aims to simplify communication.
To achieve this, the full name was abbreviated with the majuscules “MMCA”. A wide colour spectrum in combination with an adaptable image language allows it to ’emotionally’ appeal to the target group.
In visual aspects, the logo tries to amplify the sense of space and three-dimensionality through irregular shapes and expresses the future of the MMCA as a multi-cultural place. The contour of the logo is designed to be flexible for applying to a diverse range of promotional material.
The museum identity further aims to enable communication globally as well as locally.
Designed by Seoul-based brand consultancy Infinite Group, the corporate identity has been selected as a 2013 Red Dot Award: Communication Design winner.
