Panasonic Automotive Systems Reveals New Name and Logo

Panasonic's automotive division, which operates under the name Panasonic Automotive Systems, has announced a forthcoming brand and name change to "Mobitera", set to take effect in April 2027.
The new moniker fuses "mobility" – pertaining to transportation – with the Latin word "iter", which signifies path, and the Japanese word "terasu", meaning to illuminate.
"These words together express our wish to shine light upon the future. The central 'i' in the centre of the logo symbolises our vow to keep 'individuals' the focus of all we do," says the Japanese electronics giant.
A new corporate colour, dubbed "Mobitera Blue-Green", is further claimed to symbolise "the harmonisation of people, society, and the planet".
"Mobitera reflects our vision to power the future of mobility with our high-quality technologies that elevate and enrich the human experience," comments company CEO, Masashi Nagayasu.
Adding: "As we evolve our organisation to meet the needs of today's rapidly changing market, we are committed to staying true to the core values that have long defined who we are."
Panasonic's automotive branch supplies componentry like vehicle audio equipment to not only Japanese car makers such as Acura, Honda, and Nissan, but also to European companies like Volkswagen.
