The Laughing Cow Logo Stops Laughing

For over 100 years, The Laughing Cow – the beloved animated red mascot – has grinned from packages of creamy cheese wedges.
Now, the iconic character has mysteriously stopped smiling.
The popular cheese wedges, wrapped in redesigned packaging, have begun surfacing in more than 4,700 stores across the U.S., displaying the usually upbeat cow with a serious face and an intriguing message: "We need to talk."
What's behind the shift? The brand has launched "The Not Laughing Cow" campaign, a mystery-driven initiative encouraging consumers to theorise about what could have caused the mascot's smile to fade.
Each package contains a QR code that takes shoppers to TheNotLaughingCow.com, enabling them to explore the mystery and share their own ideas.
"The Laughing Cow has spent more than 100 years reminding us not to take life too seriously. So when she suddenly gets serious, you pay attention," says Jamee Pearlstein, chief marketing officer at The Laughing Cow's parent company, Bel Brands.
Adding: "Whatever finally got to her must be worth talking about. We'll let her explain when she's ready."
