September 5, 2013 Categories: Computer & Internet, News & Media admin Yahoo Unveils its New Logo Design </p> <p>Yahoo has officially unveiled its new logo after showing 30 variations of the design over the course of the past month.</p> <p>“We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots (whimsical, purple, with an exclamation point) yet embraced the evolution of our products,” Kathy Savitt, Yahoo’s chief marketing officer, said in a blog post that was published late Wednesday evening.</p> <p>Company CEO Marissa Mayer added, “Our purple is Pantone Violet C – a pantone that needs no number and no introduction. For the texture, we came up with the nice idea of creating a chiseled triangular depth to the logo – this causes the letter Y to appear in the shading at the ends of each of the letters.”</p> <p>The new logo, which showed up on Yahoo’s homepage early Thursday morning, includes elements of the old logo, including colour and the now famous exclamation mark.
