Ferrari Reveals Name and Badge of First-Ever Electric Car

Ferrari has disclosed today that its first all-electric vehicle will be named "Luce".
The name means 'light' or 'illumination' in Italian and was chosen "because leading means illuminating the path ahead", as stated by Ferrari.
"Luce is more than a name. It is a vision. When Ferrari speaks of Luce, it is not defining a technology, but a philosophy: electrification as a means, not an end – a new era where design, engineering and imagination converge into something that did not exist before," exclaims the famous Italian sports car marque.
Adding: "Simple, pure and evocative, Luce becomes a symbol of clarity and inspiration, expressing Ferrari’s approach to innovation: uncompromising vision, transparent design, silent energy that is felt in every fibre, and form shaped by function."
In addition to the name announcement, Ferrari has also shared the initial renderings of the car's interior, which has been designed in collaboration with iPhone designer Jony Ive and his associate Marc Newson.
During the development phase, the Ferrari Styling Centre team, led by Flavio Manzoni, collaborated with LoveFrom, the industrial design consultancy based in San Francisco, co-led by Ive and Newson, to create the car's design.
Interior design elements consist of an instrument cluster with helicopter-inspired graphics and control features that showcase a new custom typeface, based on historic Ferrari typography and Italian engineering lettering.
Despite the presence of a 10-inch central touchscreen, there also remains a variety of analogue physical controls.
The new EV model, previously known by its codename "Elettrica", will be fully revealed in May.
