PA Media’s Redesigned Brand Identity Goes ‘Back to the Future’

PA Media news agency has revealed plans to rebrand as the "Press Association", with its parent company PA Media Group transitioning to "The PA".
The rebranding effort aims to honour the organisation's 158-year legacy as the UK and Ireland's leading national news agency.
"The rebrand comes at a time when trust in news has never been more important. As the media industry navigates change, the Press Association is increasingly relied upon as a bedrock of trusted, independent content," claims the organisation.
"This feels like the right moment to return to our roots, because they’ve never been more important. In an age where audiences are struggling to trust what they see and hear, and algorithms promote speculation and opinion over fact, we are bringing back a mark of quality, independence and verification – our name," further comments Emily Shelley, CEO of The PA.
Adding: "Reasserting our name is about reasserting the vital role of the press, and we are proud to do so on behalf of our customers, our shareholders, and the public."
The overhaul encompasses a redesigned Press Association website, plus a fresh online platform for The PA and its subsidiary operations.
Design agency Significant is reported to have developed the new visual identity.
This marks a shift from the previous branding established by Seb Evans Design in 2019 to commemorate the company's 150th anniversary.
